Default and Custom Email Server Settings Explanation

By default, emails (such as for results, pass/fail notices, invites, reminders, etc...) sent by this application utilize test.com's Default Email Servers. Setting up custom email servers is optional (but recommended).

As an option, your GAUGE/test.com representative can configure Primary and Secondary custom email servers. These custom servers are typically your existing SMTP servers the test.com application would pass outgoing emails to, to then be sent.

There are advantages using custom email servers. Originating emails will appear as if they are coming directly from you instead of test.com directly. Using this feature greatly minimizes the chances the emails being received will not be blocked by SPAM filters.

Regular Email Sending Explanation

When test.com automatically sends an email, it first looks to see if there're custom email servers setup. If a Primary Custom server is found, then the email is sent to that server to be mailed. If the Primary Custom server unavailable and a Secondary Custom server is found, then the Secondary Custom server is used to send the email. If no custom servers are found or if the custom server(s) are unavailable, then this application will send outgoing emails through the test.com default servers.
