Creating a program in Gauge is easy. Much like creating a test or lesson you will start by going to the program tab under the manage tab. Then click on the "create new" icon. You will then name your program and click "Add New Program"
Once you have made your program you can start adding content to the program. To start adding content, go to the content tab. Then click "Add Content". You will be directed to a page that has a list of all of your available content that can be added to the program. Your tests and lessons will appear here, and if any content is part of a folder it will be labeled so. Select the content you want in the program and at the bottom of the page click "Pick Content". All of the course work you selected will be in the program. You can then use the arrows to rearrange your content. The order that the list is in will dictate the order your user must take the content in.
To activate your program go back to the Parameters Tab, go down to basic settings and click the "Is Activated" checkbox and then click save at the bottom of the page. Your program will now appear under the "Take a Test" tab.
To delete your program, go back to the program under the Manage Tab. Go to the Parameters Tab and then down to "Delete Program". Once a program is taken it can not be deleted. However, you can deactivate the program so your users can not see it. As a Superuser/admin, you can move your program to an archive folder to remove it.
If you want to charge your users to take your program you can set the price by going to the parameters tab then go down to the "Cost and Charge Settings" tab. You can set the user's cost amount and the retake cost amount. If you plan on charging users to take your content you must set up a merchant account.

Accessing Your Program in Gauge
You and your users can find the programs you make under the "Take A Test" tab. You can also assign a program to specific user groups or folders under the Access Tab of your program.
Folders
Folders are similar to the directories and folders used in a personal computer file system. Folders can exist within other folders (a directory structure). This application uses the term children to describe folders that reside in another folder. Note the expandable and collapsible panels you can open and close using the plus/minus and triangular arrow like controls. Press Save Changes to save your changes or use your Back button to cancel. If you navigate to another screen prior to pressing the Save Changes button, any changes you may have made, will not be saved.
As a Superuser you can also click on any of the folders to edit, however any changes you may have made will not be saved.
User Group Membership
Use the checkboxes in the include column to set group membership. This application can be configured to limit access to content based on group membership. The default system settings are to display all content to all users regardless of the user group membership. Until this setting is changed, content group membership is ignored for security purposes.
Automatic Assign (or unassign) User Group Membership Upon Completion
The following settings are used to automatically assign and/or unassign user group membership upon the completion of a program. This feature is typically used to make content available only after (or example) a user has either passed, failed or just completed taking the content. For content where passing does not apply, then just the completion of taking content counted for this purpose as passing, failing assignments are ignored.
Use the button at the bottom to save any changes you may have made and reopen this page with data entry fields to add/edit any user security group automatic assignments.
