Gauge Product Updates & Announcements - Spring 2023

Proctoring & Test Security Archive/Versioning of Tests, Users and Groups Enterprise Features Our New Look, Feel, & Experience

We are excited to share some recent product updates that went live since the beginning of the year. Some of the updates are in response to feature requests we have received from you, our customers. And some are part of a much larger product update that some of you may be aware of and hopefully, all of you will be interested in.

Let’s start with some features that have been requested recently and we were more than happy to add to Gauge.

Proctoring & Test Security Updates

As many of you are aware, proctoring tests virtually is in high demand and our integrations with ProctorFree and ProctorU make it easy to administer tests through Gauge that are remotely proctored.

If you are utilizing our integrations with either ProctorFree or ProctorU, or are planning to use one of these, you are now able to take advantage of a new feature that allows you to review proctoring results and approve them before tests are graded and results are shared with test takers. This gives you even more control over security and exam integrity.

You can turn this on and configure it in your proctoring settings for each test you want to have proctored.

Somewhat related is a new feature that allows test administrators or proctors to stop or suspend a test while it is being taken. This can be used to manage test security, but it can also be used to spot a test that crosses a threshold of point violations or other criteria.

Archive/Versioning of Tests, Users and Groups

Did you know that you are able to archive content that they are no longer using but don’t want to delete? Available to both test and content managers, this new feature makes it easy to hide tests or content you don’t want visible in your lists of active and available content but might want to retrieve later.  In addition to archiving tests you can also now archive Users and Groups.

Enterprise Features

Gauge is a very scalable platform and is used by small organizations who need reliable test features and large enterprises who require advanced testing and security features, sometimes across the world.

For our enterprise customers, we now offer SAML as an option for secure Single Sign On (SSO). This will make it easier for organizations to sign directly into Gauge from their enterprise applications.

Need more than the Gauge built in User Management capability and want to connect to a CRM? We offer built-in CRM integrations with HubSpot and others.

We have also been hard at work improving email deliverability through our transaction email integrations so you can continue to count on your users receiving email notifications and results.

Other Feature Updates

  • Assign and un-assign based on schedule
  • We have improved the process to bulk upload data into Gauge making it even easier to add users and test questions quickly.
  • Added the ability to create webhooks that trigger when a test is started
  • Ability to delete a purchase transaction to cancel it.
  • Test Form (A,B,C…) option for Tests that use question banks
  • Upload Users and Tests can now use a spreadsheet and bulk update user data based on login or email

Working On An Entirely New Look, Feel and Experience!

Like we have mentioned earlier, we are working on a multi-year product update with new functionality and a whole new look. While it will no doubt take time to overhaul the whole product, we will be releasing parts of the product as they become available so you can start taking advantage of them and giving us critical feedback so we can deliver the best possible experience for your users. While our ‘Legacy’ system and functionality will always be available to you, we have just released a new version of our “ New Test Builder” which is available to anybody who wants to use it, making test building and editing easier and quicker.

With the new test builder you can:

  • Build a new test from scratch
  • Add questions through bulk upload
  • Create question banks and sections
  • Add question banks and sections to a test
  • Edit existing tests
  • Set limited question features like scoring options

What can’t you do today in the new test builder that you will be able to do soon?

  • Edit all question and test settings
  • Add inline media
  • Add scenarios
  • And a few other legacy features

But, we have it all on our roadmap and are getting to all of it as quickly as we can. We will be making all of these additional updates and more available to customers when they are ready. And we will keep you posted as we get closer.

In the meantime, please jump in and try out our new Test Builder and let us know what you like, or what we can improve on.

Thanks,

The Gauge Enterprise Support Team
