Adding & Editing Question Banks

Adding Question Banks

A Test With Question Banks is the most frequently used type of test. Instead of entering questions directly into the test itself, questions are created in reusable question banks that are dynamically added to the test based on the settings you select.

When you make a test with question banks you will notice that instead of a questions tab from the basic test, you will have a question banks tab instead.

Then name your question bank and click the "Add New Question Bank" button. Once you make the question bank you can start adding questions to it. To add your questions to the question bank you will click on the questions tab. Then click the "Add New Single Question" button. You will then go through the process of adding a question. If you have made questions before it is the same process.

Once you have a few questions in your question bank, navigate back to your test. Then go to the question bank tab and click the "Add New Question Bank" button.

You will be given a list of the question banks that you have added. Select the question banks you would like to include in your test and click the "Pick Sections" button. You will then see all of the selected question banks in the test. Once you have all your question banks in, you can save the test and activate it.

To activate the test, go back to the parameters tab, then under the basic settings drop down, click on the "Is Activated" check-box. Make sure to save after you activate it and navigate to the "Take A Test" tab at the top of the page to view and take your test.

There are a few different settings when making a test with question banks that are unique to the test type. When you add question banks to your test you will notice there is an option to control the question bank settings individually at the question bank level rather than at the test level. Checking this box means that you can edit certain question bank settings without affecting the whole test or other question banks. This can be helpful if, for example, you want to have certain question banks to randomize questions or you want to adjust the question count limit for certain question banks.
